S- a născut la 8 octombrie 1944 în casa bunicilor din comuna Sînmărtinul de Cîmpie, Transilvania. A fost o zi de toamnă, frig şi război.

Un medic de trupă din armata germană  aflată în retragere l-a ajutat să vină pe această lume.

După ce armele au tăcut, împreună cu mama s-au mutat în căminul lor din Tîrgu Mureş, de unde – cu excepţia stagiului militar – nu a lipsit mai mult timp.

 

,,Tîrgu Mureşul este liniştea sufletului meu, locul anilor fericiţi ai copilăriei şi tinereţii, unde pietrele de pe drum mă salută şi copacii mă cunosc” – mărturiseşte despre acest oraş de unde nu a dorit niciodată să plece.

 

La vârsta şcolară, din mina fabricii de cărămidă a cartierului Corunca a frământat primul bulgăr de  argilă şi a modelat figurine ciudate.

 

În anii de liceu şi a şcolii tehnice, a făcut sport, fotografii, a scris versuri şi articole în ziarul local.

Din anul 1971 este funcţionar public la Consiliul Judeţean Mureş; a condus biroul de reclamaţii, a fost inspector de autoritate tutelară iar în prezent este secretarul Comisiei pentru Protecţia Copilului.

 

Lucrările sale suprind  aspectele periferiei sociale, viaţa politică, la vârf, unde aplicarea sa este una ironică, sau, mai rar temele religioase.

1944. október 8-án született Erdélyben, a nagyszülők szentmártoni birtokán. Ősz volt, hideg és háború.

Az átvonuló német hadsereg egy tábori orvosa segítette a világra jönni. Miután elhallgattak a fegyverek, édesanyjával marosvásárhelyi otthonukba költöztek, ahonnan hosszabb időre csak a katonaság tartotta távol.

 

,,Marosvásárhely lelkem nyugalma, boldog gyermek és ifjúkorom színhelye ahol az utcakövek ráköszönnek, az út menti fák ismernek ” – vall e városról, ahonnan sosem kívánkozott elmenni.

Kisiskolás korában a Koronka utcai téglagyár bányájából agyagot gyúrt és fura alakokat formált.

 

Középiskolás és a technikumi diákévei alatt, szabadidejében sportolt, fotózott, verseket és újságcikkeket irt a helyi lapban.

 

1971-től a Megyei Tanácsnál köztisztviselő; panaszirodát vezetett, volt gyámhatósági felügyelő, jelenleg a Gyermekvédelmi Bizottság titkára.

 

Agyagból formált alakjait a társadalom két végletéből meríti: a perifériára sodródott ember illetve a csúcsokra kapaszkodó újgazdag politikus, de nem ritkák a bibliai alakok sem.

He was born in Transylvania on his grandparents’ land in Szetmárton, on October 8, 1944. It was a cold autumn during the ongoing war. A military doctor of the retreating German army helped him come into this world. After the war was over they moved together with his mother to their residence in Marosvásárhely. Only the military service kept him away for a longer period of time from this town.

 

„Marosvásárhely is the silence of my soul, the scene of my cheerful childhood and teenage period, the place where each street-corners and three knows me” – he says about the town he never thought to leave.

As a pupil he pugged clay from the mine of  Koronka brick factory and molded it into weird shapes.

 

During his high school and college years he practiced several sports, photography and wrote a number of articles for the local daily.

 

Since 1971 he has been civil servant at the County Council heading the complaint-office, inspector at the court of guardians, and currently he is the secretary of the county Child Care Committee.

 

His clay figures are basically inspired from the two extremes of society: the outcast peripheral men and the highly aspiring powerful enriched politician, though one will find biblical figures too among his creations.
